Episode 1 of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds dub premieres! Posted Monday, 9/15/2008 by Bluntasaur
Episode 1 of the 4Kids dub of Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds has finally aired! In case you missed it, you can grab the torrent here
Many fans have feared that the 4Kids dub was going to be bad, and sad to say, after seeing this episode, I can safely say those fears were justified.
Anyone who's seen the original Japanese version is going to notice some major inconsistencies with the storyline. The script writing and dialogue made absolutely no sense.
Not only that, but there were numerous cuts and edits that turned the whole thing into a huge mess.
However, to its credit, the voice acting was decent, and Jack's British accent was actually nice to hear.
However, for those of you who wish to embrace the original, you can grab raws and subtitle scripts over at Tatsu no Kiba Productions

The show was created with the aid of Russia’s Ministry of Culture and animated at Peterburg animation studio in the region. It first premiered in Russia in March of 2003.
TheCW4Kids block airs Saturdays from 7 a.m. to noon on The CW Network, while 4KidsTV runs 8 a.m. to noon on FOX.

Yu-Gi-Oh for the Wii? Posted Saturday, 7/19/2008 by PPNSteve
Recently Konami confirmed that one of their successful batch of Yu-Gi-Oh games will be making an appearance on Wii, but as something slightly different.
According to Siliconera, a Konami representative, after confirming the title's existence, simply said 'think racing'.
Konami announced their yearly Yu-Gi-Oh PSP game in Japan, but it won’t see a release in North America. Don’t worry Yu-Gi-Oh fans, a game based on Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds is in development for the Wii. Usually, this isn’t the kind of thing I would report, but my interest piqued when a Konami representative told me it wouldn’t be like any other Yu-Gi-Oh game to date. I said, “No cards or dice?” He replied, “Think racing.” Yu-Gi-Oh for the Wii will probably be the new anime characters riding D-Wheel motorcycles with tilt control. We'll post more info on this as it becomes available.

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds: Duelist Genesis coming to US! Posted Saturday, 7/5/2008 by Bluntasaur
Upper Deck Entertainment has confirmed that the first Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds TCG expansion set, Duelist Genesis, will be available in the US on September 2nd, 2008!
I don't have many details yet, but it's a mixed bag.
The good news is that the new set will indeed introduce Tuner and Synchro monsters to the game, including the well-known Turbo Warrior and Goyou Guardian! Naturally, the two big highlights of Duelist Genesis will be Stardust Dragon (Yusei's signature monster from 5Ds) and Red Demons Dragon, a.k.a. Red Dragon Archfiend (Jack's signature monster from Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds.)
The bad news is that the set does not include Speed World or any Speed Spells, so no real-life Riding Duels (yet)
No word as to the full card list, but I'll keep you posted as I find out more!

About Yu-Gi-Oh!
The Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game is based on the Yu-Gi-Oh! comic series from artist Kazuki Takahashi that first appeared in Japan in 1996. The comic spawned a hit cartoon TV show, a top-selling collectible card game, several videogames and other licensed merchandise. During the game, players Duel each other by summoning monsters and activating Spell and Trap cards. Using a Starter Deck and/or booster sets, Duelists collect cards to play their hands against other Duelists. Duelists with well-constructed Decks, powerful monsters, solid strategy and a little good fortune are the winners in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG.
The Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise is based on the Yu-Gi-Oh! comic series from artist Kazuki Takahashi that first appeared in Japan in 1996. It is currently being serialized in SHONEN JUMP, the monthly manga magazine published by VIZ Media. The comic spawned a hit cartoon TV show, a top-selling trading card game, popular video games and other licensed merchandise. Yu-Gi-Oh! follows the adventures of Yugi, a young boy who possesses the "Millennium Puzzle" that allows him to transform into the "Duelist King" whenever he is challenged.
The object of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME is to win a match (which consists of three Duels) by reducing an opponent's "life points" from 8,000 to zero. This is accomplished through a series of turns using a deck with a minimum of 40 cards and a combination of strategy, skill and luck. Three main types of cards are used in Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG: Monster Cards, Spell Cards and Trap Cards, with each category being further divided into sub-categories. For more information on the Yu-Gi-Oh!
