COLUMBUS, OHIO to HOST 150th Yu-Gi-Oh! CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES

Players from Across North America Are Expected to Compete in Elite Trading Card Game Series

150th Yu-Gi-Oh! CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES (YCS)
El Segundo, Calif. - May 18, 2015 - With great intensity and fanfare, the 150th Yu-Gi-Oh! CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES (YCS) marches into Columbus, Ohio May 23-24. Presented by Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI), the YCS is a traveling, premier-level Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME competitive tournament, a game made famous by the Yu-Gi-Oh! TV series. The YCS Series has drawn hundreds of players to each event since 2004 and KONAMI again expects a large turnout for the 150th celebration.

Adding to the allure of the big weekend event, KONAMI has created a special Participation Game Mat available for Duelists and Dragon Duel competitors that have submitted their registration form, entry fee, and valid, legal Deck List. Game Mats will be distributed at pre-registration and registration, while supplies last. In addition, Eric Stuart, the voice of Seto Kaiba from the Yu-Gi-Oh! TV series, will be on hand to meet with fans during his scheduled autograph session.

Please visit the event FAQ for the autograph signing schedule http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/events/2015/YCS_150th_Columbus.html

The Greater Columbus Convention Center will look to contain packs of confident Duelists ranging from novices to sage veterans, as they battle head-to-head for a plethora of exciting prizes. Duelists will use Advanced Constructed Decks throughout the weekend. Hopeful of becoming a part of Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG history, Duelists will enter the doors on Saturday morning looking to take their shot at Yu-Gi-Oh! immortality.

Duelists will put their practice and Deck-building skills up against some of the best players the game has to offer for the chance to advance to the Final Round on Sunday and the opportunity to Duel for the title of 150th YCS Champion. The first place winner will receive an Ultra Rare version of the latest, most sought-after prize card: Ascension Sky Dragon. To this day it remains one of the rarest Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG cards in existence!

With the newest products available to the public - the Crossed Souls and World Superstars booster sets and Premium Gold: Return of the Bling - YCS Columbus will be an incubator of sorts for live game-testing as Duelists unveil brand new strategies and Decks. Duelists will need to devote extra attention to see how the inclusion of the new cards from these products impacts the YCS standings!

YCS Columbus will be the fifth YCS to feature Duelists who have qualified for VIP treatment via the VIP Qualifier tournaments only available at Top Performing Official Tournament Stores (OTS). VIP Duelists will receive free entry to the YCS, reserved seating, additional match coverage, and a two-round bye in the Main Event.

Pre-registration for YCS Columbus will run from 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22 and registration will continue promptly at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23.

Ultra Rare version of the latest, most sought-after prize card Ascension Sky Dragon
Upon registering, Duelists will receive five booster packs of Crossed Souls for participating in KONAMI's YCS Columbus. Round One will start at 10:00 a.m. and the top ranked YCS finishers will earn invitations to participate in the 2015 World Championship Qualifier.

YCS Columbus will be an all constructed event. KONAMI has capped the participation at 2,100 Duelists for this Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series so everyone who has pre-registered and registered will receive the special Participation Game Mat.

Event Address:
Greater Columbus Convention Center
400 N. High Street, Exhibit Hall D
Columbus, OH 43215
http://www.columbusconventions.com/

Accompanying the Main Event, KONAMI will be conducting Dragon Duels (for Duelists born in 2002 or later). Dragon Duel competitors will also receive the special Participation Game Mat upon pre-registration and registration. The Dragon Duel tournaments on both Saturday and Sunday will be sealed, using Battle Pack 3: Monster League, where each Duelist is given nine sealed Battle Packs to make a new Deck. The top four finishers in the Dragon Duel events will receive winners' medals, a Dragon Duel T-Shirt, and a 2015 Regional Game Mat.

Top-ranked finishers will also win an invitation to the 2015 Dragon Duel World Championship Qualifier. The two victors from the Saturday and Sunday tournaments will face off in a best two-out-of-three match using their own pre-constructed Decks in the Advanced Constructed format, to determine the weekend's overall winner and a chance at the ultimate prize: to hoist the Dragon Duel Champion's trophy and the coveted title of YCS Dragon Duel Champion! Entry to the Dragon Duel tournaments is free to qualified players.

A new Public Event that debuted earlier this year is the Beta Format Win-A-Mat. This Special Format Win-A-Mat will be a new challenge for Duelists, in which the number of Summons per turn is reduced. Duelists will use Advanced Format rules for Deck Construction and are allowed a maximum of three Summons per turn: one Normal Summon/Set, one Special Summon from the Extra Deck, and one "other" Special Summon. KONAMI has created two unique Win-A-Mats, one for each type of Win-A-Mat event.

Additionally, a full range of other Public Events such as Regional Qualifiers, 3 vs. 3 Team Dueling, ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD!!, Win-A-Mat, Battle Pack, and Battle City Tournaments will be held through the weekend.

The Main Event winner, the two runners-up and winners of Sunday's two Public Event playoffs will each be awarded a YCS prize card. The Main Event winner will take home an Ultra Rare version of the Ascension Sky Dragon prize card, with the other winners bringing home Super Rare versions. Additionally, the top ranked Duelists will win a Top Cut Game Mat for this event that matches the artwork of the Ascension Sky Dragon card.

Comic-Con Int'l to Host Yu-Gi-Oh! Creator Kazuki Takahashi
Posted Wednesday, 5/13/2015 by PPNSteve

Manga creator to appear at July 9 - 12 convention in San Diego

Shueishas Weekly Shonen Jump - Takahashis Yu-Gi-Oh! manga
Comic Con International announced on Monday that it will host Yu-Gi-Oh! creator Kazuki Takahashi as a special guest at this year's convention. Each special guest usually will have a "Spotlight" panel at the convention, which will run from July 9 to July 12 at the San Diego Convention Center.

Yu-Gi-Oh! creator Kazuki Takahashi will be a guest in July at Comic-Con International in San Diego, CA. Yu-Gi-Oh! is a card-fighting manga that has inspired a number of anime and manga spinoffs as well as, logically enough, a card game.

Takahashi's Yu-Gi-Oh! manga ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1996 to 2004. The manga launched an international hit franchise that continues to this day with card games, anime, toys, and newer manga series. The latest anime, Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V, premiered in Japan last spring and is set to debut internationally this year.

KONAMI DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT UNLEASHES A TROVE OF MONSTERS IN THE Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME CROSSED SOULS BOOSTER SET

Sneak Peek To Be Held May 10th and 11th, 2015

Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG)
El Segundo, Calif. - May 5, 2015 - Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) fans will be eager to get together with their fellow Duelists to playtest and perfect their Deck-building skills with the Crossed Souls booster set and its bounty of new cards. Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI), a leader in the trading card game category, delivers this monstrous set to stores nationwide on May 15.

In this powerful booster set, five warring tribes of Monsters put aside their differences and gain the power to Pendulum Summon! Crossed Souls unlocks fresh Deck-building opportunities like never before for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG. This 100-card set introduces the Zefra monsters, a new monster omni-theme that crosses over five different Deck types. Zefra monsters are tied in to a popular monster group from recent sets. Duelists with Shaddolls, 'tellarknights, Yang Zing, Nekroz, or Ritual Beasts can add their new Zefra monsters to spice-up their Deck, or build a Deck entirely of Zefra monsters, tying all five together.

Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) Crossed Souls booster pack
While their cross-theme potential and monster effects vary, all Zefra monsters can take advantage of the powerful Zefra Spell & Trap Cards like Oracle of Zefra and Chosen of Zefra in Crossed Souls, magnifying the power boost that Zefra monsters give to any Deck that includes them. At the same time, a pure Zefra Deck (or a Deck with appropriate Zefra splash) can now gain increased access to Shaddoll, 'tellarknight, Yang Zing, Nekroz, and Ritual Beast cards!

Crossed Souls also arms Duelists with the latest non-Zefra cards for their Burning Abyss, Madolche, Infernoid, U.A., Yosenju, and other Decks. Fans of the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime and TV series will also be treated to a slew of new cards from the newest generation of the series - Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V.

KONAMI is once again partnering with Official Tournament Stores to hold a Sneak Peek of this new set on Saturday and/or Sunday, May 9th - 10th, where Duelists can get a head start on creating new Decks and developing strategies to use against their peers. Duelists will also have the chance to win an exclusive Sneak Peek game mat!

Visit this link to see if an Official Tournament Store in your area is hosting a Sneak Peek for the Crossed Souls booster set: http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/events/sneakpeek.html

Posted Friday, 4/24/2015 by PPNSteve

BARRETT ARTHUR KEYS IS CROWNED TOP DUELIST AT Yu-Gi-Oh! CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES BOGOTA

Yu-Gi-Oh! CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES (YCS)
El Segundo, Calif. - April 23, 2015 - Duelists from across the Americas and the globe descended upon Colombia to wage epic card battles at this past weekend's Yu-Gi-Oh! CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES (YCS) Bogota event. Inspired Duelists of every age participated in the premier-level Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) event, presented by Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI), ready to show off their impressive Dueling skills for the chance to be crowned the YCS Champion.

In the end, it was Barrett Arthur Keys from North Hollywood, CA, United States who outpaced the field to claim the coveted title of YCS Champion and Dragon Duel Champion Owen Lopez Garcia from Bogota, Colombia who took home the Dragon Duel Champion's title.

The city of Bogota put its best foot forward as it hosted Yu-Gi-Oh! players from across the region who battled throughout the two-day tournament. The YCS events are amazing platforms for Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelists wanting to assess the latest big-match strategies and card combinations against their opponents. Throughout the weekend, many in the field of players showed refined skills and a splash of luck, but it was the elite players that emerged to win top honors.

Barrett Arthur Keys from North Hollywood, CA, United States

KONAMI DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT DEBUTS Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME WORLD SUPERSTARS TO DUELISTS EVERYWHERE

Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG)
El Segundo, Calif. - April 7, 2015 - Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI), a leader in the trading card game category, tapped into its international card cache for the release of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) World Superstars booster set. World Superstars springs onto the global scene April 17.

Featuring an all-foil set, World Superstars collects 50 cards previously available only in Japan and Korea. With dozens of new cards from the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL era, Duelists can now boost the power of their Xyz Monsters like never before, with new Chronomaly, Star Seraph, Heroic Challenger, Gagaga, and Galaxy cards.

For Duelists who may be tired of counting-up all those Xyz Monsters, fear not, they can also get their hands on new anti-Xyz weapons! Pendulum cards can be protected with Pendulum Impenetrable, and even "Number" monsters can be bounced back to the Extra Deck with Numeral Hunter.

Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) World Superstars booster set

Adding to the special allure of this set, World Superstars contains a unique bonus for collectors. Every year, eight finalists at the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championship win special prize cards created especially for that event. Included in this set are reprints of both prize cards from the 2012 World Championship in Tokyo: Legendary Dragon of White and Legendary Magician of Dark! These cards are too powerful to allow in regular play, but give a modern Xyz spin to two famous monsters from the dawn of Dueling, and make a great addition to any Duelist's card collection.

Each five-card World Superstars pack contains four Super Rares and one prismatic Secret Rare (a special version of Secret Rare not seen in many years) for an MSRP of $3.99.

The World Superstars booster set contains 52 cards:
34 Super Rares
18 prismatic Secret Rares

Duelists can watch all-new Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL episodes every Tuesday as well as all of classic Yu-Gi-Oh!, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, and Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's on http://www.yugioh.com in the United States.
