Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. (KONAMI) has announced the World Championship Qualifier Berlin winner’s list of top Duelists who will be representing Europe at the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship in Seattle. After an intense 3-day competition at the European World Championship Qualifier (WCQ) in Berlin, Germany, 7 skilled players have earned their right to compete on a global stage in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) category.

This year’s European WCQ was filled with electrifying moments and fierce gameplay, showcasing the best of the best in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG community. The competition heated up on Friday, July 26th with the World Qualifying Points (WQP) Playoff, where the top 16 Duelists from Europe, Middle East, and Africa battled it out for 3 coveted spots in the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship. The remaining 4 spots were earned by the top-performing players in the Main Event of the European WCQ, with [Name] taking home the title of European Champion.

  • Anthony Lopes (Luxembourg), all playing Fiendsmith Snake-Eyes.

Every year, the WQP Playoff gives top-performing Duelists from Europe, Middle East, and Africa a chance to compete for a spot in the prestigious Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship. The 16 participants are determined by the amount of points they have earned throughout the competitive season by excelling in major Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG events such as Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series (YCS), WCQ National and State Championships, WCQ Regional Qualifiers, Yu-Gi-Oh! OPEN Events, and OTS Championships.

In addition to the opportunity to compete at the World Championship, performing well at these events also awards Duelists with an invitation to the European WCQ. This is a highly coveted invitation as it is the climax of the competitive season for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG in Europe.

While all eyes are on the upcoming Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship in Seattle on September 7th-8th, the beginning of the 2025 season has already been announced with two major events. The 275th YCS will be held in Lille, France on September 27th-29th, followed by YCS Bologna in Italy on November 22nd-24th. These events are a must-attend for passionate Duelists, as they provide a platform to compete on an international level and earn valuable World Qualifying Points for the next season.
